Current Local Sales Tax Rates

Local sales and use tax rates include all state, local, and any district taxes. The state sales tax rate of 6 percent has been in effect since July 15, 1991. Most cities in most California counties levy the same sales tax rate as the county as a whole, but there are some exceptions as noted in the data. The source for these data is Sales and Use Tax Rates by County, Board of Equalization.
