The California State Water Project conserves water for distribution to much of California's population and to irrigated agriculture. It also provides flood control, water quality control, electrical power generation, new recreational opportunities, and enhancement of sport fisheries and wildlife habitat. Operational facilities in 2001 included: 28 water storage facilities, 3 pumping-generating plants, 6 power plants, 17 pumping plants, and nearly 660 miles of aqueduct.

California water deliveries and outflow contains annual deliveries in acre-feet by supplying agency and monthly net Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta outflow in cubic feet per second-days.
